I have been doing that. I read That pricking holes with a tooth pick and freezing. When they thaw the wine will go into the grapes. I’m trying this next time. They are always great to eat after the glass of wine.

Great idea. Hate it when people put ice in wine glass. They spoil the wine.

Frozen strawberries are my favorite!

CLOSED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE!
July 22, 2020: According to the SC DHEC, the number of new covid cases for July will exceed 60,000 (not 45,000 as projected three weeks ago), and the average rate of new covid infection currently is 20%, or 1 in every 5 individuals tested. SC DHEC’s current estimate for new covid cases in August is 17,651 per week (or 78,000+ for the month.) It is heartbreaking to see this ongoing precipitous rise in covid cases. So unnecessary and avoidable. La Belle Amie Vineyard will remain closed at least through October. Keep your distance, wear your mask, wash your hands. Stay super safe! Vicki, Owner.

I know this was a hard decision but given the numbers, the best decision. People can't follow rules so you have to make them for them. Be safe all my La Belle Amie Vineyard family. I miss you but your health and safety are priority❀️

Yes thank you for your consideration! We love your winery and will be back when you open! Stay safe everyone and Wear your Masks!!!😷

I hope you are able to harvest the vineyard and are able to stock up on you delicious wines. Prayers heading your way for a prosperous fall. We have reservations for October, but are praying this pandemic curve retreats to zero by then!πŸ™

Wow, so sad and frustrating! We really miss coming to the winery.. Love it there. We just moved here last summer and were so looking forward to enjoying the early spring and the rest of the year visiting the winery. Missing your wines too. Stay safe and healthy and hopefully we will see you in November. <3

I can only imagine the trouble Chuck is getting into with all this time on his hands! Poor Vicki! Missing those sweet faces!❣❣❣

I wish I stocked up on wine pre-COVID. I miss this wine but totally understand! Safety first for everyone

We have cancelled our vacation in August for Myrtle Beach. Hope to see you next summer. Prayers this is over or under control soon. Stay safe

We miss relaxing in at our usual corner table , listening to music and most of all enjoying a bottle of your wine. We hope you and Chuck are staying safe and well. We look forward to when we all can see each other again. 🍷❀️❀️

We love the winery and miss all the good music and wine but you are doing the right thing. People can’t seems to do something as small as wearing a mask and social distancing. Thank you for doing what you need to do for your customer’s safety! We will be back as soon as you re open!

Wow, so very disappointing. I don’t understand living in fear. Hiding isn’t going to make this go away. I think using precautions at this point should be enough. JMO. I moved here last fall and love your place and was really looking forward to becoming a member. Sadly, it may never happen.

We miss visiting the vineyard this year. Better to be safe. Hopefully we’ll see you b Next year to enjoy some good wine and music. Stay safe

High Tide Trio misses you, Chuck, your staff and your loyal patrons. Everyone stay safe!

We miss going to the winery to relax enjoying the music

I am so sorry. Will support you when you reopen. We enjoy your vineyard and love your gift shop.

I’m so sorry you have to do this, but you are doing the right thing. Hope to enjoy your wonderful place & wine again soon!

We are just on the tail end of this in NY. Good luck stay safe all And William Wellbrock please be careful

We are so sorry that we will miss you in October when we vacation there and come to the vineyard every year. I will be sad, stay safe.

Sad to miss you on my next trip back to my home state. Perhaps next year will be one where I can visit,

I'm so bummed! I was so looking forward to stocking up on your wines. πŸ™

We missed seeing you this year. Best wine ever.

So sorry for local businesses

So wish this crazy virus would go away, really miss my La Belle Amie family. Stay safe all, see you when it's over.

Just keep taking care of yourself and your employees. Hopefully we will still be here ourselves to visit you again when it is safe to reopen. We are two old people trying to just hang in there.

Hi- my name is Katherine Phillips and I’m a reporter with wmbf news. We’d like to do a story on why you’re deciding to stay closed for safety with so many businesses wanting to be open. I’ve sent you a message in FB messenger. Please let me know if you are available!

So sad. We were looking forward to wine tasting. Totally understand. Stay safe!!

Our numbers are getting scary right now. But things will return to normal soon. I'm looking forward to that day!🍷

Loved going there with my parents years ago and we always enjoyed the time we spent there.

Thank you for your commitment to safety for our community and your employees. We look forward to seeing everyone again when it is safe to do so. In the meantime, we've been enjoying your delicious wines from the comfort of our own porch and will definitely need a restock once the doors reopen! πŸ˜‰

Is there any place to buy the twisted sister wine besides the vineyard? REALLY would love to b able to still support u all!!

Since I was made aware that some folks were not too keen about our non poisonous hard working leg less friend Reggie, Jr., I decided to show you a couple of our beautiful memorial trees. The weeping willow was planted in honor of Eugene Fitzgerald, who was not only a prized volunteer for our festivals, but also, the father of our grounds and vineyard manager, Kathy β€œCha Cha” Fitzgerald. I am sure that his spirit lingers in that tree, urging Cha Cha on as she works so hard to keep La Belle Amie so beautiful.
The Japanese maple tree was purchased by our wonderful staff in honor of Chuck’s mother who passed away last year. She so loved the vineyard, flowers, and trees that I’m sure that she is looking down and saying, β€œGrow damn it!”

Hi everyone,
Would like to introduce you to Reggie, Jr. He is our red bellied water snake. He works very hard helping us keep down the frog population at the vineyard. BTW, his father, Reggie, Sr., just loved the Fat Jack duo and without fail we would find him by the music shed enjoying their music! Since they must love music, I think that I may train them to ensure social distancing when we reopen. LOLπŸ˜‚πŸ·πŸ·πŸ·

Thank you so much for not killing him I hate it when people kill a snake because of their fear.

Red-bellied snake, too much wine?πŸ˜‰ I'm sure a day at the vineyard, drinking wine and listening to music will make him a friend in no time!

Will visit when you reopen but will not visit either Jr or Sr. Snakes of any sort are not my thing. Sorry.

May 3, 2020: La Belle Amie Vineyard will remain closed until it is safe for our staff and customers to congregate. Social interaction among the customers, musicians, staff and us is the very core of our daily operations. Its what gives purpose and motivation for those who visit, and re-visit, La Belle Amie Vineyard. Our vineyard gatherings have been deeply gratifying to many for years.

But, covid infections and deaths are still occurring at an alarming rate, and the public health β€œprotections” in place today are the same as existed on March 14, 2020, the last day we were open. Worse, the covid contagion is more pervasive today than seven weeks ago. During a time of increased risk of infection absent any public health protections how can we possibly re-open and not subject some or all of the hundreds who would socially gather here each day to this invisible killer?

We harbor hope that a vaccine/remedy will be developed so that society as we knew it can begin its resurgence. That may take many months, and we hate that it may be that long before we see you again. However, with an abundance of caution for all– staff, musicians, customers, friends and us– we choose to remain closed until effective and accessible public health protections exist for your welfare, and ours.

Please be cautious and stay safe. We miss all of you very much and look forward to sharing a glass of wine together down the road.

We always look forward to coming by when we are at the beach in July and do wine tasting. My middle son wasn’t able to come last year due to work. This year everyone will be with us. Any chance y’all will be open by middle of July?

Completely understand with the cases going up. Miss you and Chuck and hope to see you in September πŸ’•πŸ·

Thank you for being a responsible business owner. We look forward to seeing you under safer conditions.

Thank you. I’ve been shocked at the lack of face masks and little social distancing I’ve seen while I came back to do some paperwork. People and businesses in other states have been working so hard to help the vulnerable.

Totally understand! Thanks for the update. Be safe!

I hate this. But I fully understand. Hopefully this will be over with soon. Looking forward to that day!🍷

I sorry to hear! I do understand and appreciate your concern! Please keep me posted if and when you will reopen. I can't wait as long as necessary but I will miss you guys. We have had such great times there.

Looking forward to coming by on our usual visit next Winter. Thank you for putting safety first.

Thank you so much for the update. We miss coming to the Vineyard, you’re making the right decision. See you when we see you . Stay safe

I am so sorry but understand. Looking forward to healthier days ahead when LBA will once again welcome locals & visitors to your beautiful facility

We miss being there but completely understand, thank you for keeping safety for all first! Stay safe 😷🍷

We understand, but will miss stopping by while we are down next week. Stay safe!

Thank you for this. Look forward to your opening when safe to do so.

Sorry for you that you still can’t be open. Hope to see you in October. πŸ˜’πŸ·πŸ‡πŸ’•

I don’t understand why a venue that’s outdoors is closed. Thank goodness Brookgreen Gardens never closed. Outdoor venues are the only really safe ones.

Can I step on your property just to look at how you culture your vines? Materials, and maybe glimpse how you trained them?

Thank you all for your kind words and understanding our decision. We look forward to the day we can all get together again 🍷😷🍷

Thank you for loving your customers!! ❀️❀️

Cant wait ti see you and Chuck. It might be October before we get back down. Hope you are both happy and healthy.

Stay healthy and we will have a toast when this is all over

Stay safe everyone. Even though we want to see you all, it's better to be safe than sorry. Miss you all. 🍷

At least you are abiding by the guidelines- no one else seems to be down here

Thank you for being responsible and wise. We will still be here when you reopen.

No flowers on today’s post. Instead I would like to let you in on a little known fact about the vineyard. We have a guard cat! She appeared on our loading dock as a 4 month old scrawny kitten in the middle of a busy day about 7 years ago. When told about the kitten, Michele, our shop manager, couldn’t get back to the dock fast enough. And the rest is history. Michele took her to the vet and named her BUTTERSCOTCH. In the day time, Butterscotch patrols the property for frogs and lizards. At night she is inside the shop keeping a sharp eye out for any feral cats that may come up on the front porch and hisses them away through the windows. We all love Butterscotch, but our customers probably do not know her because she has been practicing β€œsocial distancing” before we had to!! ... See MoreSee Less

have you considered doing wine tastings through "hangout"? I would buy six bottles from you, invite friends to my house (social distancing, of course!) and you would do the stories on each? With your following, I would bet there would be many people wanting to do at home wine tastings.
